Tug's Great Prize Find

We are avid shed hunters and take many of our Labs to the woods and fields at this time of year to begin the search for the prize shed antlers. This update from a puppy family was heartwarming to say the least as one of Sage's pups has proved himself in the field this season:

Check out what Tuggy found yesterday!!!!! I know I have said this many, many times to you, but wow what a great dog he is and always has been! We absolutely love him and couldn't imagine our family without him. Roger takes him everywhere-today he spent the afternoon with him and his dad and uncles--Roger's dad turned 90 today. My in-laws are not house dog people, but Tuggy does great--such good manners and laid back personality. Thank you for all you do to raise such good "children"!! It is appreciated.

Ike's Busy Winter

Ike is one of Rayne x Myles 2012 litter. He was with us when Moon and Mossy first arrived. It was particularly sad to see him fly home...but what a wonderful adventure life is for Ike and his family. Here's an update with some great photos. Thank you Dave!

Penny:  Hope you're doing well!!!

We are so happy to have Ike as a member of our family.  He has been busy the past couple ofmonths.  Christmas was a fantastic time, with lots of new people to meet and many new toys and treats to enjoy.

Snow was also very new. Kind of scary at first, but then LOT’s of fun.

Ike is very social, and we take him with us wherever we go.  He really likes to go to the gym with me and interact with all of my friends.  My son, Gus, also enjoys introducing Ike to his friends from school.

We had a short respite from the winter weather recently, and had the opportunity to try swimming for the first time.  No coaxing was needed - he didn’t hesitate at all; and just ran right in.  Of course, chasing the nearby geese was also fun…

Ike is growing like a weed, and is now almost 60lbs.  He’s getting really big.

I need to buy stock in the company that sells antlers.  They are, by far, his favorite treat and pastime.  He just loves them.

We enjoy reading about the escapades of his littermates.  So much fun.

Stella aka Mandy (Pidge's puppies)

Hi Penny,

Abby and I wanted to give you an update on Stella.  It has been almost 2 weeks since we picked her up (but seems like longer).  She is doing great!  She is a very sweet puppy, but she does have an attitude when she wants to.  She is already house trained and using bells on the door to go out as she needs, and she has learned to “sit”…we are continuing to work with her on additional commands, but she is picking things up very quickly.  She is also very curious when we are outside and when she comes across new things or places in our house.

We haven’t weighed her since her initial vet visit a few days after we picked her up, but she appears to be growing pretty quickly…everyone comments on the size of her paws.  She has been eating very well and loves the Life’s Abundance food and training treats.

Her “adult” coat is starting to come in mainly along her back.  Her eyes have started to change color and are now more of a silver or steel color…we are not sure if they will stay that color but she is very beautiful!  We are so happy to have her…you guys did a great job!  I have attached a few pictures as well.  We will continue to send updates as she grows up.

Be well,

Nic, Abby and Stella

Woody aka Boon at home

Boon was the last of Pidge's puppies to venture home this last weekend. He sure looks like Mom! We were thrilled to get this message from his family:

Hi Penny & Joel,

Woody's doing wonderfully! He's sleeping thru the night pretty well. Second night I would have bet money we had a wolf pup in the crate :) he has quite a howl. But last two nights he's been great about quieting down. Only a couple 'accidents' in the house and most are probably my fault...

The photo is of him waiting quietly while I did the dishes last night.

Cinder AKA Fawn - First Days at Home

Hi Penny,

Cinder is doing great,  we had a rough night last night but that’s to be expected. She’s sleeping in a kennel next to our bed and she cried every hour , it was frustrating because I didn’t know if she had to pee again, or just wanted to get out. She’s very smart, already today she’ll go to the door and bump the bells with her nose to go out! Last night I thought it was just a coincidence, but today I’m sure she knows because she’ll pee when she gets out.

I attached some pics we took yesterday,  we just can’t snuggle her enough!

Talk to you soon,

Kari
